Mariamne and Aristobulus were the children of King Alexander and Queen Alexandra of Judaea. Mariamne and Aristobulus were renowned for their divine beauty, so their mother had an artist paint a portrait of them to send to the triumvir Mark Antony to win his favour. Mariamne would come to marry King Herod the Great.
