She is illustrated wearing a red dress and a large crown as she is elevated in the sky. The people on the ground are depicted looking up to her. Boccaccio explains that Juno was sent to live in Samos during her early childhood years until she entered puberty and married her brother Jupiter. The people of Samos erected the statues of Juno to honour their connection to the goddess.
