The monkey leaps on the puppet master’s shoulder and clicks his teeth together, making as if he were whispering the answer to the question in his ear. Maese’s left eye is covered with a patch of green taffeta. Signed by G. Doré (illustrator) and H.-J. Pisan (engraver). Part 2, ch. 25.
