Description: The god Jupiter had become angry with the humans on earth as they had become violent and destructive, so he decided to destroy them. He did not want to use his thunder bolts as he did not want to risk burning the heavens. Jupiter decides instead to send a flood to rid the world of humankind. This image depicts the flood sent by Jupiter. There are people on the left side of the image trying to climb trees to avoid the rising water and to and rescue their children. There are also people illustrated in the background trying to get out of the water.
